Dear Brock –
You’re such a gem right now – always in a great mood, and a joy to be around. It’s a good phase. 🙂
You keep making progress. In the last few days, you’ve improved your standing-up skills, and you’re doing pretty well with sitting back down as well. You (slowly) crawled up the entire flight of stairs over the weekend – 14 steps. I was scared, but stood behind you for every step. It’s seriously time for baby gates.
The doorstop is the most amusing new toy you have – it makes you laugh almost as much as your daddy does. It’s hilarious.
Over this past weekend, you seemed to start differentiating between certain words. You now let out a long “baaaah” for “ball.” “Da” or “ba-da” for your panda security blanket. And “dadadadada” whenever you see your dad. I love it. Although I do wish the “mama” would come back – you only said it a couple of times, then stopped!
My work prospects seem up and down, and my mood follows suit, unfortunately. Today was a little discouraging, but there are still other projects ahead. I’m trying to focus on you, but get a little work done when it comes as well. Today you’re in daycare, but tomorrow I’ll be with you all day. I hope you sleep well for your nap, as I need to make a client phone call during that time. We’ll see!
Time to go pick you up, but I wanted to document this short report on recent progress. Motherhood is not all peaches and cream, but I’ve never loved anything more than watching you discover and perfect new skills. It’s really such a thrill.
I love you!
Mom
